News from our September Monthly Stitch-In Everyone brought along, purchased or borrowed one of the new JCS Ornament magazines and we voted for our top five ornaments of 2008. After all the viewing and votes I compiled our customers top five favorites and here they are. #1 fan favorite is Brittercup Design's Christmas Centerpiece (pg 28) #2 a very close second is Full Circle Design's A Christmas Song (pg 16) then we have a three way tie for the final three slots (in alphabetical order) Erica Michael's Noel Pinkeep (pg 28) Hands to Work's Joy (pg 10) The Sweetheart Tree's Noel Ornament (pg 10) This was really fun and is sure to become an annual event upon the arrival of each year's ornament issue. We still have a few of the 2008 issues available but order soon as they are going fast.

OPEN STITCH TIMES - Every Tuesday from Noon to about 2PM we invite stitchers to join us in the classroom area for a chance to gather and stitch. This could be a chance for those Moms whose kids just returned to school to get a little stitching time in. Also for those working stitchers (not that Mom's aren't working) there is Thursday from 5 to 8 PM, each week, for you to gather. This a great way to guarantee you get a couple of hours in stitching time each week and maybe get those fall and Christmas designs finished (ok, started ;-) this year.
OCTOBER
October 23 - 26 - Fall Stitching Retreat is scheduled for this weekend and we are so excited about our plans for this one. I hope you are already signed up, as this fall we are full, but there is always Spring or maybe next Fall or both. Since we take most of the shop with us to camp the shop will be closed starting Thursday October 23 and will reopen on Tuesday October 28. You can check out all the details on the Retreat page here. (Note, we are planning something a little different for Spring so watch for details soon)
October 18 - Our Monthly Stitch-In (yeah! this year we get to do both the Stitch-In and retreat). Come join us for some stitching fun from 4PM to 11PM or as long as you can keep your eyes open to stitch. We move a couple of racks into the front room and set up tables and chairs for a night of stitching, eating, chatting, laughing and even a little shopping (or a lot). We provide the main course for dinner, and post the menu here as soon as we decide. We will also have our big frig stocked with most of the name brand colas (diet too) and bottled water. You can bring a side dish, desert or any snack type item to share with the group. The cost is $10 per person to attend and you just need to call and let us know you are coming so we can order enough food for everyone. 748-5999. So gather up your stitching and join us for some fun.
This month's Baker's Dozen kit is from Baubles 'n Stitches. This is Becky's first design, and isn't it cute. The kit includes linen, threads, plus Kreinik braid, Mill Hill beads, mat boards, batting and coordinating fabric. We've even made a special cording to trim the edges and a crazy twisted wire hanger to finish it off. And if that's not enough this month's kit is even included in the $5.00 off Sale. The kits are ready for purchase now here online or you can email or call to purchase yours while quantities last. info@heartlandneedleworks.com 877-748-5999 |
Here is another finished Apple. This one was stitched by Andrew L. an almost six year old new stitcher. Way to go Andrew this is great.
October 1-31 - SALE on all Baker's Dozen kits. Yes, that's the whole month. After having the NPI silk sale for the whole month of September, I realized that having a sale that long allows everyone a chance to plan a trip, make a call or place an order. So we are doing it again. This month it is a $5.00 discount off any Baker's Dozen kit in stock. This is your chance to collect all the kits from this year and guarantee that you will qualify to receive the bonus kit in December. Plus we have several cute kits still available from 2007. Remember these kits include all the materials for you to create a complete project finish. Check them out here or drop by the shop. Also keep watching for something new we have planned for our 2009 monthly kits.
